One of our latest commercial projects, Pristine Fine Dry Cleaning, represents a departure from your conventional dry cleaning experience. The interior architecture, designed by award-winning
based in Princeton, New Jersey, reflects the clients' desire for an inspirational new experience using a simple palette of materials in warm wood and earth tones, framed within white curvilinear elements. The white central reception/work space unites and separates each of the effortlessly functional elements of the project. Two curvilinear wall features beautifully house storage areas.
The striking contemporary design was transformed to reality this Spring by master craftsman Francisco Henriquez. Previously a leading specialist in custom handcrafted mahogany entry doors in Honduras, we are delighted Francisco brought his wealth of experience to the team at
in 2013.
The modular pieces of the project are formed from two layers of special bending ply, glued together to hold the shape. Cherry melamine strips cut out with a CNC router (computer controlled cutting machine) create different levels of transparency, screening clothing racks, whilst still allowing views throughout the space. To achieve a glass-like finish, the pieces were entirely skimmed with a thin polybacker, to create a luxurious, durable skin with an incredibly smooth surface prior to spraying.
Owners Tom and Lorrie Janick were wonderful to work with and remained very involved throughout the 6 week build period. They knew exactly what they wanted from the outset and visited the workshop, discussing and guiding progress on a weekly basis. Pristine Fine Dry Cleaning, also based in Princeton, New Jersey, unveiled their chic new outpost in Naples, FL, Spring 2014.
